A Lean manufacturing way of thinking can result in enhances productivity in:
RFID has fully emerged and bio-manufacturing companies of all sizes can take advantage of the productivity and security gains and enhancements it offers. RFID systems use small RFID tags (transponders) positioned on objects for locating & tracking via radio frequency waves. RFID tags carry serial numbers for tracking items throughout the manufacturing process, in inventory and in the supply chain. Data can also be written to the RFID tag memory via radio waves. RFID tags are available that withstand radiation during the sterilization process. RFID tags can be used to measure and log temperature readings allowing manufactures to know the temperature of their products throughout the manufacturing process as well as in the supply chain. The MTES bio-manufacturing-Lean consulting component offers the following RFID services to Maryland’s companies: Assessments (FREE), Training, System Engineering, System Selection and Implementation Assistance.
