Lean Supply Chain Workshops

Companies at the very leading edge of manufacturing innovation are focusing more and more on reducing the time it takes to transform raw materials into finished goods. These companies are no longer limiting their continuous improvement efforts to their own manufacturing facilities but are driving improvements across the entire supply chain.  In essence the focus is shifting to making the entire supply chain lean.  Waste is identified and removed at all steps of the supply chain including suppliers, manufacturers, warehouse and distribution, transportation and customers.

Benefits of Lean Supply Chain Logistics

  • Reduce overall cycle time
  • Reduce supply chain inventory
  • Reduce costs
  • Improve lead times
  • Increase sales
  • Increase productivity
  • Increase profits

Course Description

This workshop provides a platform for attendees to view an operating supply chain enterprise from an integrated macro perspective encompassing suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, transportation, and customers all within a classroom training environment.

There are two Supply Chain Logistics Models which provide both lecture and hands-on supply chain model training to test new concepts with quantifiable measures that impact optimizing the Lean Enterprise supply chain system. The Lockwood Green Model is geared towards the larger companies with more extensive networks and the Time Wise Supply Chain Model is more focused on the smaller company supply chains.

Participants will acquire an insight into how increasing demand and lead-time variability impacts traditional supply chain logistics systems. Participants will also learn the strategic, operational and performance differences between “push” and “pull” supply chain logistics systems.  Finally, participants will gain awareness of the shifts in best practices towards optimized lean enterprise supply chain logistics.
